7 Videos You Should Have in Your Business

This is the most common question I get is “What kind of videos do we need?”

Below is a good starting point. And to show that I’m fair, I’m adding other people’s videos and non-animated videos too:)

  1. Customer Journey Videos

Nothing explains and sells better than a story; period.  We’re all familiar with the “Hero’s Journey” in movies.  This is the same.  Your customer is the hero and you are telling their story.  You introduce the main character, the customer.  You then explain their problem and the emotion that goes with it.  Then the helpful guide is introduced; that’s you.  You help the hero solve their problem and give them happy ending.

2. Process Videos

If there are more than two or three steps in a process you use frequently, then a video will make your life much easier.  Instead of you explaining this over and over or sending someone a 5 page PDF they will never read, use a video to give them the process you use.

3. FAQ Videos

This video answers 70-80% of the questions you respond to over and over.  This is ideal to send a prospective client before a sales call.  This shortens the sales cycle and is a life saver.

4. Landing Page Video

A landing page is a specific page on your site designed to get someone to take action; buy, book a call, opt-in to your email list, etc.  This page can have a ton of written copy designed to proactively overcome objections, however, a video and single call-to-action works best here.  Ideally, you want the video to remove the doubts they have about taking the action.  Be honest with them and tell them what happens next.

5. Product/Service Videos

Idealy, every major page of your website should have a great corresponding video. Start with those major pages like service and product pages.  You probably have a lot of text that nobody really reads, so this is an ideal opportunity to make a very big difference in terms of user experience.

6. About Us/Bio Video

The purpose of this video is someone can hear you, see you, and know you before you’ve ever even heard, seen, or known them. Simply create a bio video for each person on your staff, especially those that are customer-facing. It doesn’t have to be long, 60, 90 seconds. What they do at the company maybe what they do when they’re not the office. Something personal just gives them a sense for who they are.

7. Testimonial Videos

You probably have testimonials at this point on your website. While a quote, name, and picture are great, a video is even better!  You only need a few of these and the rest can be what you have currently.  Hearing and seeing someone brag about you is more effective than just a quote.

BONUS -  Educational Videos

This one is a no-brainer and should’ve made the top 7. Oh why, did I stop at 7?! An educated customer is more willing to buy than customers who are confused and have questions. Be seen as the authority and build that video library now.
